Excitement was evident in every VBS workshop as teachers – mostly young ones – anticipated the return of this annual kids’ ministry event, combined with the excitement of a basketball game.

The VBS Crossover training season ended with its final workshop last July 16, 2022. VBS Crossover is the first-ever basketball-themed Vacation Bible School (VBS) for boys and girls from Church Strengthening Ministry, Inc. (CSM Publishing) in partnership with Crossover World, founded by Ptr. Romy Capuli. It has been a fruitful training season having face-to-face workshops in different areas, even as far as Davao.

The VBS Crossover workshops also featured a discussion in the Director's class about how to do VBS at-home and online as an alternative for churches who still don’t have face-to-face gatherings. While it is more fun to hold VBS face-to-face, churches were also encouraged to observe and establish safety health protocols in their VBS programs. Two years of “rest” from this ministry led to having many new volunteer teachers from churches. This was the result of our survey in every workshop. Young blood stepped up to teach and assist alongside veteran teachers in their VBS programs.

Participants who attended the workshop were asked to join the Facebook group, CSM Training Community. This group serves as an outlet for participants to share pictures and videos of their VBS Crossover experience in their churches and communities. It may be challenging to hold a VBS program during this season, but it is a blessing to see churches and children's ministry workers and volunteers reach out to children and make the gospel known to them, by introducing them to the Champion of all champions, Jesus Christ!
