The annual master training for this year’s VBS Shield Squad last February 2, 2019 brought 47 trainers for ten teams to CSM in Paranaque to train for 38 scheduled VBS workshops in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Shield Squad: Secure in God’s Protection is CSM’s first collaborative Vacation Bible School material in partnership with the Philippine Children’s Ministries Network (PCMN) or the children’s commission of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC). PCMN also sent a team to train with nine other teams: 6 for CSM and 3 for PCBS (Philippine Christian Book Store).

PCMN National Director Fe Foronda with staffer Reah Menandilla led the plenary session on how to use the Parent’s Primer, a booklet included in the VBS kit. Churches are encouraged to hold a half-day seminar using the Parent’s Primer in the community to teach parents what their children have learned in VBS Shield Squad

Shield Squad is also CSM’s first VBS curriculum on disaster-preparedness for children. The new VBS teaches children how to respond in times of disaster and how to prepare for the final disaster, death, by accepting the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The VBS Shield Squad training workshop season will start on February 23 and every Saturday after that until April 13, 2019. For more details, please contact the CSM Training Department at 8527301 up to 04 or send an email to training@csm-publishing.com.
